CHRISTMAS CARDS

So I got an email from my wonderful sister (yep, she reads this) asking if I would be making cards for Christmas this year! I didnt know for sure if I would have time since I started working again! Well I finally decided that yes I would go ahead and spend my day off making a few new cards to add to the book that I send to the hospital every year! It is hard to see the details and sparkle of everything from the picture but trust me...they shine!!

So far this is what I have come up with!

PLAYOFF GAMES #1

Tonight was the first playoff game for our beloved Farmers and we won!
It was about 35 degrees outside and snow coming down like crazy as we drove towards the stadium! Once we got there the snow seemed to stop and it wasnt as cold as we thought it would be. The field was covered in snow and the players were just about frozen!
We ended up winning the game 27-6!!! One game down only a few more to go!!
GO FARMERS!!

HALLOWEEN!!

Well it is a bit late, but I finally got around to posting some pictures from Halloween! I have been so busy with work that I just have not had the time or ENERGY to do much of anything!!

We had a SUPER Halloween! On Friday Rob and I went to Andrew's Halloween Party at his school, that is the one thing I do every year! I knew that his costume would take two people to get him ready. We stood in the hallway and got him ready and everyone was in awww! I have to say he had the best costume in the whole school...OF COURSE!! He was like some kinda rock star the way people were ewwing and awing over him!

Halloween day I had to work in the morning...costume and all! Everyone loved the costume and thought it was very realistic! Then we had Nathan's football game to go to..we lost! So after that we rushed home to get everyone in there costumes and get us out trick or treating. Nathan was still at school so I had to take Andrew door to door up and down the street. Max was handing out candy and Rob was...well Rob was doing what he likes best...SCARING THE CRAP OUT OF KIDS!! He had the best time out of all of us! He made kids pee themselves and run screaming from our house!! IT WAS GREAT!!!

Until next year ghouls and goblins!

FIRST DATE

I am so glad that my son does not read my blog because he would kill me if he knew I was talking about this.
Today when I came home from work my son informed me that he and his "girlfriend" Jess were going to the movies. Now he has been talking to her at school and they text ALL THE TIME!! They are going to Homecoming together but have never had a real first date. They went to the movie theater and got to see Ice Age 3. He walked her to the driveway after the movie and gave her a hug! So I asked him if they were officially going out now...(he told me a few weeks ago that in his school you had to hold hands and then you were officially going out). HE of course said.."I dont know." Silly boy, it only gets harder from here!
This was the first time I had met her and even got to meet her parents. They were all very nice. I warned her that if I am driving them to Homecoming I get to take my fair share of pictures before the dance. She told me that her mom said basically the same thing.

IT FINALLY HIT HOME!!

Hello everyone,
I sure hope that you are all doing really well! The weather here in Colorado is cold, rainy and a bit windy!! I have the day off and have been cleaning all day trying to get my house back into some kind of shape!!
Well some of you may already know, but I thought I would share with everyone else. Two days ago I woke to my hubby telling me that he was being laid off from his job of more than 5 years! I was in shock! I think I may still be in shock!!
He went into work on Saturday and was told that he has 30 days to find a new job and that he would have to leave at the 30 day mark. He was given some lame excuse as to why they are letting him go but we all know it has to do with money! They can hire 2 people to work his job for the same price as he makes! Funny how they gave him a 5% raise just two weeks earlier!!
Anyway, we are pulling up our pants and moving forward. 30 days is better than no days! He can look for a job during that time and if he does not find something then he will have to file for unemployment! We will have to make a few adjustments...like deciding whether to eat or pay bills but we will get through it with our heads held HIGH!!! I know that God has a master plan and that we will be just fine once the shock wears off!
Keep your fingers crossed for us!!

I THINK I'M GETTING OLD

Ok, I am finishing up my first official week of work and let me tell you....I can feel every muscle in my body! Apparently when you take 2 years off from working(outside the home) your body forgets what it was like! I hurt EVERYWHERE!!!! I am not used to standing on my feet for 5 hours at a time. Well not even just standing, I am walking back and forth and around the store, up a tall ladder and back again for 5 hours straight! I am too old to be this busy...LOL!!
Actually so far I really seem to like my job! I am kinda shocked though how out of shape my body really is but I know it will get better with time!

FINALLY EMPLOYED!!

Well my 2 year resting period is over! I finally got myself a job! Today will be my second day at work! Yesterday was filled with watching videos and filling out paper work! Today will most likely be more of the same, but hey I am getting paid!!
We knew when we bought our house that I would have to go back to work to help out with the bills! Plus when you work this hard to remodel a house it is nice to have at least a bit of spending money too!
So off I go to get ready for work! Just thought I would share!

ANNIVERSARY LAYOUT

Hello everyone!

I must have caught the creative bug again! The last few days I have been wanting to make something but I just didn't know what it was! Well yesterday I sat down and started going through our wedding pictures! We just celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary last week so I decided to make a layout! Now I have a wedding album that I made several years ago but I wanted to highlight just a single layout with some favorite pictures! I used a ton of Stikles and even used some liquid pearls that I got from the Expo!

I also made a card with the scraps from the layout! I feel the card has a kinda masculine feel to it! I would most likely give it to a guy for a birthday! My friend Pam(YorkieMom's Creative Corner) made a card similar to this so I thought I would try my hand at it! I think it turned out pretty good. I used the Cuttlebug(Vintage) dies that I got from Ebay to help me out!

And of course a cute picture of my faithful scrapping buddies who sit down at my feet while I craft! In the winter this will be great because I can tuck my feet under them and keep them warm! We have not put any flooring down yet so it is all cold concrete!

FUN WEEKEND

So the last time I posted I was talking about meeting my friends Klo and Erm from Pazzles at a local Rubber Stamp Expo! Well the weekend has come and gone but my memories will last forever!
I had so much fun with them that I spent the entire day Saturday and Sunday with them working at the booth! I was not technically invited to work the booth, but I kinda took over! I even got to meet Klo's best friend Steph who also works for Pazzles. SHE IS SUCH A KICK!!! It was like hanging around family...only no fighting!! This is the Card I made to thank Klo for coming all the way to Colorado just for me...LOL
Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

SCRAPBOOK SHOW THIS WEEKEND!

I am so excited! This weekend is the annual Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo in Loveland! I go to this every year and spend the entire day there looking at new stuff for crafting, shopping and just watching and learning!
This year will be extra special for me because my friend Klo from Pazzles will be there! I had asked her last year why Pazzles never comes to Colorado to do a show or teach any classes. She told me that they had been thinking about it for a while. A few weeks later she asked me which show I would be going to, the one in Loveland or the one in Colorado Springs? I told her it didn't matter I would go to which ever they would be at, but I usually go to Loveland! She informed me that they would be coming to Loveland this year! I was thrilled!
So this weekend I will be in Loveland most of the weekend soaking up as much information as I can from her and everyone else at the show! Even her MIL Erm will be coming with her! AGAIN...THRILLED! I have been communicating with them online for a few years now and I will finally get to meet them!
So if you cant find me this weekend I will be in LOVELAND!!!
WOOOOOHOOOO!!!

OUR NEWEST ADDITION!!

Hello Everyone! I bet you thought i had fallen off the Earth! Well no I just got a bit caught up in life.
This is a layout that i did the other day of our newest family addition! Her name is Abbagail and she is a puggle just like our sweet Baxter! She is about 10 months old and a rescue from the Denver Dumb Friends League!
My hubby decided that it was time to add a new princess to our family. Since Emma passed away there has been a bit of a void that needed to be filled. So the boys and I went to the "pound" and found this sweet little girl. We fell in love right away.
She has been with us now for about a month now and let me tell you....SHE IS ALOT OF WORK!!! She is lucky she is cute! According to the people who gave her up for adoption she only barks when she feels her family is being threatened! THIS IS ALL THE TIME...day and night! She has found every single hole in our fence and has spent a lot of time stuck between the two fences until someone realizes that she is back there. Luckily Baxter loves her and plays with her most of the day. They do fight when she tries to steal his "babies". She does not like our cat Keke however! They have gotten into many a fight and the last one resulted in both being bloodied! So now I have to carry the cat from room to room when he wants to eat or drink or lock Abby in her box so he can investigate the rest of the house for awhile!
Needless to say we love her and all of her little and BIG quirks!! How could you not love that beautiful smile of hers!!
Thanks for looking!

AND MORE AFTER PICS

MORE AFTER PICS

SOME AFTER PICTURES OF THE HOUSE

Ok I found my camera and took a few after pictures of the house. Some are technically during pictures because the room is not complete!

The kitchen I am still in the process of sanding cabinet doors and painting until we can totally remodel the kitchen. The downstairs (craft/gaming room) is still a work in progress, not really sure what we are doing in there yet! Um I think the rest speaks for itself!

AND STILL MORE PICTURES

I still have to take some pictures of the rooms that are completed and upload them. I just found my camera so I will get to that as soon as I can. I have family coming in tomorrow morning so I it may be a day or two! I promise it wont be a whole month..LOL!!
We still have a lot of work to do before it is perfect but we certainly made a huge dent in the big picture! We will be getting all new windows in a few weeks (they have to order them), completely new kitchen sometime after income taxes, new sink, toilett and tub in a few months and then comes a new roof! I have no idea where most of the money or energy is coming from to get all of this done, but I am having a great time making this house my HOME!!!
Thanks for looking!

I SEE THE LIGHT!!

OH MY WORD!!! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!! I have now owned my house for 1 month and 3 days! I feel like I have lived here forever!! It has been a long and very tiring process but we have finally moved in and started the unpacking process.

I know that I have been MIA for some time now and I feel bad about not posting anything in so long, but let me share with you what I have been up to for the past month!!

As you all know (and for those that didn't know) we bought a house a month ago! The house we bought was a foreclosure. Now this house was number 25 if I remember correctly out of all the houses our realtor took us to look at. Now this does not include all the houses that we drove by and peeked into the windows! This house was not in horrible shape, but it was to say the least dirty and in need of some TLC!!! LOTS OF TLC!!

We have ripped out tile from the living room and dining room, scrapped off the lumpy ceiling, torn down a wall, removed carpet, sanded and refinished wood floors and so , so much more. Here are a few pictures of what I have been up to. My hubby had to work during most of this process so it was me, my oldest son and his friend Max (we call him our adopted son).
