I SEE THE LIGHT!!

OH MY WORD!!! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!! I have now owned my house for 1 month and 3 days! I feel like I have lived here forever!! It has been a long and very tiring process but we have finally moved in and started the unpacking process.

I know that I have been MIA for some time now and I feel bad about not posting anything in so long, but let me share with you what I have been up to for the past month!!

As you all know (and for those that didn't know) we bought a house a month ago! The house we bought was a foreclosure. Now this house was number 25 if I remember correctly out of all the houses our realtor took us to look at. Now this does not include all the houses that we drove by and peeked into the windows! This house was not in horrible shape, but it was to say the least dirty and in need of some TLC!!! LOTS OF TLC!!

We have ripped out tile from the living room and dining room, scrapped off the lumpy ceiling, torn down a wall, removed carpet, sanded and refinished wood floors and so , so much more. Here are a few pictures of what I have been up to. My hubby had to work during most of this process so it was me, my oldest son and his friend Max (we call him our adopted son).

NO END IN SIGHT!!

Oh my word, I feel like I have been going non stop for weeks. We closed on our house last week and it has been non stop since. So far we have removed all the carpet, scrapped and sanded the wood floors in the bedrooms, removed all the carpet strips, tore up the tile floor in the dining room and living room, painted all the bedrooms (except trim), painted the upstairs bath room, tore off the popcorn ceiling in the dining room and living room, patched holes in the walls and ceiling, and are now in the process of stripping the paint off of the kitchen cupboards. And we are nowhere near done yet. Tomorrow we will be adding a bit of texture to the ceilings, finishing the cupboards (hopefully), and whatever else I can squeeze into the day. I still have to prime and paint the living room before the carpet comes on the 3rd, fix the mess in the kitchen and dining room, paint trim in bedrooms, stain and finish the wood floors and so much more before we can even think about moving in. As of now we are planning on the 4-7 to move into this house. Then we will start cleaning the old house and getting ready for an Estate Sale. That will happen the 9-14th.
I have had no time to do any crafting. I di happen to finish the scrapbook that I made for Andrew's teacher. She said that it was the best gift she had ever gotten in all her years of teaching...wasnt even my best work..LOL!
So please forgive me for not listing any new cards and for not posting more often...IM POOPED!!

I Am Still Here

I know it has been a while since I last posted anything. Life has been kicking my butt!!

It has been crazy busy around here the last few weeks. Lets see, we are teaching our 16 year old how to drive, he drives to school every morning. We are trying to finish the process of buying the house...only 8 days to go till closing!! WOOHOO! We are trying to switch car insurance companies so we can get a cheaper rate with more coverage. Today I had jury duty, didn't get chosen! The end of the school year is only 2 1/2 weeks away so you can imagine all that is included with that, field trips, field day, tests...you name it!! And so much more that I just wont bore you with!

Anyway, my neck seems to be healing very well. I can spend most of my time now without the collar! Every now and then it gets tired and needs a break. I AM DRIVING NOW...WOOOOHOOOO! I am thrilled! I have to admit though that Rob was correct when he said it would be cheaper for me to not be driving. I think I have hit every scrapbook and craft store that we have here! I will say that I have not bought nearly as much as I wanted to!

I have been trying to come up with an idea for a card for once we move to the new house to send out to everyone. My friend Lori gave me a pop up file to use that is super cute. I am going to tweak it a bit more and once we close on the house I will post a picture of it. I don't want to jinx it by showing the card before I get the house! Silly I know, but that's how I am!
So stay tuned for pictures!

6 WEEKS IS UP!!

Hello everyone,

I know it has been a while since I last posted anything. Life has taken over!

I went to my 6 week check up today and was told that I could take off my collar and start living life again! I do not have to go to Physical therapy (this shocked me). I will have to do some exercises at home but that is about it. I have been going without my collar for most of the day. After about 3 or 4 hours my neck gets tired so I put it back on for a bit to let it rest. I will try to drive on Sunday. I want to give the muscles awhile to get used to not being in the collar before I put my kids in the car..LOL!!

Rob is not thrilled with the idea that I will be free to go shopping again! We saved so much money by me not being able to drive anywhere! Funny thing is, with the house being so close to closing I really don't want to spend any money! I want to use what money we have to fix up that house if we get it! So who knows maybe God has taught me a valuable lesson here!!

~Enjoy
PS...I have a few projects that I will be sharing soon. So keep an eye out for them!

Checking In

Hello fellow blogger's and crafter's!

I feel really bad that I have not posted anything recently. Life has been so HECTIC to say the least. I have been so busy the last week or so it is not even funny! We have been trying to buy a house. We finally found one that we like and got the bank to accept our offer. Tomorrow we will have our Inspector come out and do a complete inspection on the house and tell us if it is going to fall down as soon as we move in...LOL (Please Lord don't let that be true). We know that if we are able to buy this house that we will have to clean it before moving in (Oh the joys of buying a Foreclosure home.) We have decided that we will be painting the entire upstairs and first floor, cleaning if not removing the carpets and totally remodeling the kitchen...ALL BEFORE MOVING IN!! We have been pricing kitchen cabinets, fixtures, sinks, etc...

We told our landlord/friend that our offer was accepted and that if all goes well we will be moving out soon. She informed us that if we help her sell the house that we currently live in she will give us a commission. So of course we are trying to figure out who we know that can buy the house..Any takers?? We offered to hold an Estate Sale once we move out to help her finish selling the stuff that is still left over from her family living here before us!

The boys have gone back to school now that Spring Break is over and that is taking some adjustment on every one's part. On top of that I have still been trying to complete my healing process. I am on week 4 and still have at least 2 more weeks to go before I start my physical therapy! I sure do hope that I will be able to help out in the remodel and move process if we get the house! I would hate to have to sit on the side and direct everyone where to go.

So that is my week so far and it is only Tuesday!

TOO COLD!!

It has been a bit chilly around here the last week or so. I do not like to turn up the heater because it is just too expensive. So when I went to get into bed the other night this is the sweet surprise that I found! I had a little bed warmer in my bed!!

3 WEEK CHECKUP

SO I went to my 3 week post-op appointment today. And I left with this lovely picture of my innards..LOL
Doctor D. says that I seem to be healing well. The strength is coming back in my left arm and hand and the incision is looking really good. He wants me to come back in three weeks for another check up and most likely another Xray. I was told to keep doing what I have been doing..or should I say NOT DOING! Still cant drive, cook, clean, run, and so many more things I enjoy to do. I didn't even get yelled at for scrapbooking so long as I keep my collar on at all times and it does not hurt. Here is a groovy picture of my new hardware!

FISKATEERS CHALLENGE LAYOUT!!

Here is my layout for the Fiskateers "ORANGE " Challenge!

The only rule was to create a new layout or 2 cards with orange as the main color!

I sure had fun making this page! I know that I am not supposed to be doing any scrapbooking or crafting for another 3 weeks or so, but I could not help myself! I was having withdrawals!!
